Bows are stupid.

Allow me to narrate what’s going on in the above photos.

First panel: Hm? I’m sorry? What’s that you’re saying, Mommy? You would like me to keep this bow in my hair so that you can take my photo?

Second panel: You mean….THIS BOW?

Third Panel: THIS BOW THAT I WILL YANK OUT OF MY HAIR NOW?

Seriously, what works to keep bows in babies’ hair? Because let me tell you what DOESN’T work: following her around for thirty minutes and putting it back in Every. Time. She. Takes. It. Out. Doesn’t work AT ALL. Creates quite the tense atmosphere if you would like to know the truth. Also? I have met my match in terms of stubbornness.

When we took them for their first haircuts, we had them cut her bangs, which were hanging in her face. My SIL told me not to do that again, because we’ll want her hair to grow out, that bangs will be a pain further down the road. But her bangs are getting so long now and are constantly hanging in her eyes and GOD HELP ME ALL OF A SUDDEN I SOUND  JUST LIKE MY MOM.  How many times did I hear that exasperated “For heaven’s sake, get your hair out of your face!” while growing up? Every single day. Why is it so annoying? I don’t know, exactly, but all of a sudden I get it, Mom. I get it.

And besides, she looks so cute when I can get her to leave it in for two minutes.

And there you go, you finally get it, that Moms realize how beautiful their little girls are and they just want everyone else to see it too! And try not to think how much longer you have to put up with it! I will send her the elephant felt clasp I made for her and see if it would interest her at all. This is the cutest set of pictures yet!
