Today’s Find.

Yard Sale Season is in full swing, people! THREE neighborhood sales today, including two that I’ve been going to for years — ┬áthe Villa and Bowmanville neighborhoods — that are almost always worth going to. I slept later than I should have, but still managed to find some clothes for Emme that should fit by the Fall, some smaller toys, and the Official Find of the Day: this $180 Play Kitchen for $40!

When we dragged it out of the car, we debated whether to give it to the urchins now or save it for when they’re older — but because I’m an instant gratification junkie, I had to see how they would like it immediately so we put it in the playroom to gauge the reaction.

Though they can barely reach the counter, they were immediately fascinated.

There followed about ten minutes of silence while they busily opened doors, threw things inside, slammed the doors, opened them again, and removed the items. Over and over again.

Once they had thoroughly explored the kitchen, the goal became: how best do we destroy this? as they stripped it of any removable parts and banged all the kitchen utensils together. So that, coupled with the fact that they can barely reach it, means we’re sneaking it of the apartment while they’re asleep and putting it in storage. Meanwhile, I’m going to be on the hunt for things to stock the refrigerator with!

You had me laughing out loud…this is so cute! What a great find…will they realize it’s gone when you move it out? The photos are priceless. I read a review that said it’s hard to assemble so you can figure that into your purchase price. Reminds me of an IKEA dresser we really liked and found at the store already assembled and on sale!

Um, why wasn’t I told about these sales?

IKEA has some great play kitchen utensils and wooden and/or soft food.
