So, there’s a discussion on this board that I frequent (I can’t link to it — it’s subscription-based) about potty training prior to age 3. The woman who started it is trying to start the process with her 9 month old! Which I think is ridiculous, but a lot of people started posting that waiting until 3 is a fairly recent thing, that most babies were potty trained by about 18 months 30 or 40 years ago, and that a lot of cultures start around a year old. There are schools of thought that say that the window to potty training opens much earlier than 3 years old and if you take advantage of that, you can get the job done pretty early. To which I said to myself, hmmmm. Really. No more changing diapers? No more BUYING diapers? Intriguing. We might be looking into this soon.
